Highlights

A sporty summer between lakes, ridges and wide open spaces

The canton of Neuchâtel stands out as an ideal destination for an active, refreshing and invigorating summer. Here, physical challenges blend with natural beauty: energising hikes along the Jura ridges, mountain bike adventures through forests and pastures, scenic cycling along the lakeshores, or stand-up paddleboarding on peaceful waters.

In the Neuchâtel mountains, stunning panoramas unfold at every turn: the Lac des Taillères, a quiet gem nestled in the Brévine Valley, invites visitors to relax by its crystal-clear waters; the majestic and untamed Saut du Doubs offers a breathtaking natural spectacle; Creux du Van is a popular hiking goal from Val-de-Travers, and Chaumont reveals sweeping views all the way to the Alps.

A highlight of the summer sports calendar: Pedaleo, the European bikepacking festival, will take place for the first time from 1 to 3 August in Neuchâtel. The event features hands-on workshops, talks, a cycling expo, open-air concerts and free camping on-site at Nid-du-Crô.

This summer in the Neuchâtel region, every pedal stroke, every step and every dive into the water creates a deeper connection with a vibrant and generous natural world. Move, breathe, explore – and let yourself be inspired by the unique energy of a 100% Neuchâtel-style sporty summer.
