Highlights

Spring arrives: the Neuchâtel Region in motion

In spring, the Neuchâtel Region gently enters the high season. As nature awakens, trees begin to bud and days grow longer, the desire to get outside, walk and explore comes naturally. Depending on altitude, landscapes alternate between fresh greenery and the last traces of snow, creating varied and constantly inspiring atmospheres. Trails invite visitors to walk or cycle, while winter sports enthusiasts can still enjoy favourable conditions on the ridges, sometimes until after Easter.

In the Neuchâtel Mountains, iconic sites reveal the full richness of this time of year:
  • Lake des Taillères, freed from ice or still partially frozen depending on the weather, reflects landscapes that are coming back to life.
  • The Saut du Doubs, fed by melting snow, showcases the full power of its waters.
In the Val de Travers:
  • The Creux du Van, surrounded by nature in full renewal, offers a striking spectacle where cliffs, forests and occasional remaining snow patches create a landscape full of contrasts.
On the lakeshore:
  • Chaumont offers spectacular panoramic views of the Alps and the lake, particularly bright when the spring air is clear and invigorating.
Whether on a hike, a cycling trip, a snowshoe excursion at higher altitudes or simply a moment outdoors, each experience brings you closer to a living, ever-changing and inspiring natural environment.Move, breathe, explore — and fully enjoy spring in the Neuchâtel Region.
