The Neuchâtel Region: contemplative or active — everyone at their own pace!

Autumn is settling into the Neuchâtel Region. The landscapes are gradually taking on new colours, the light is becoming softer and the temperatures are perfect for enjoying the great outdoors. Whether you want to admire iconic sights, head out on a hike or discover the authentic charm of our mountain inns, our destination has something for everyone.

PANORAMAS
In the Neuchâtel Mountains, the landscapes take on beautiful autumn colours, while Lake des Taillères offers stunning reflections.
In the Val-de-Travers, the Creux du Van reveals dramatic cliffs, forests and striking contrasts, made even more spectacular as the autumn colours set in.
In the Val-de-Ruz, wide meadows and rolling landscapes stretch out towards the horizon, with the sweeping views from Vue des Alpes as a backdrop.
And on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, Chaumont offers beautiful views across the lake and towards the Alps, in an atmosphere made for autumn walks.

EXPLORATION
Between lake and mountains, the Neuchâtel Region offers the perfect playground for enjoying the great outdoors, surrounded by landscapes that are as diverse as they are inspiring.
On foot, trails invite you to explore panoramic ridges, forests and wild gorges, with routes to suit every preference. Autumn is the perfect season for hiking, with vibrant colours, soft light and landscapes that are constantly changing.
By bike, routes connect the lakeshore, valleys and Jura mountains, from easy rides to more challenging circuits, always through remarkable scenery.
On the water, our lakes and rivers still offer the chance to enjoy the last beautiful days of the season. Stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, sailing or swimming are all great ways to discover our lakes and rivers from another perspective.

FARM RESTAURANTS
Until the end of October, Neuchâtel’s mountain inns are an invitation to take a well-deserved break in the heart of the Jura landscape. After a hike or simply to enjoy a convivial moment, they serve authentic cuisine and regional specialities in a unique setting.

Get moving, breathe deeply, explore! And make the most of autumn in the Neuchâtel Region.
