The Neuchâtel Region: contemplative or active — everyone at their own pace!
Our destination is entering the beautiful season. Nature is awakening, trees are blossoming and the light is becoming softer. The desire to head outdoors comes naturally. Whether admiring iconic sites or exploring them on foot or by bike, our destination has everything to please.
PANORAMAS:
- In the Neuchâtel Mountains, iconic sites reveal the full richness of the season. Lac des Taillères offers stunning reflections, while the Saut du Doubs impresses with the power of its waters.
- In the Val de Travers, the Creux du Van unfolds dramatic cliffs, forests, and striking contrasts typical of early spring.
- In the Val-de-Ruz, the landscape opens onto wide meadows, with sweeping views from the Vue des Alpes in the background.
- Along the Neuchâtel lakeshore, Chaumont offers bright panoramas over Lake Neuchâtel and the Alps.
EXPLORATION: Between lake and mountains, the Neuchâtel Region is an ideal playground for outdoor activities, offering a wide variety of inspiring landscapes.
- On foot, trails lead across panoramic ridges, forests, and wild gorges, with routes suited to every level.
- By bike, routes connect the lakeshore, valleys, and Jura hills – from easy rides to more challenging circuits, always surrounded by remarkable scenery.
- The Canton of Neuchâtel is also crossed by La Route Verte, the cycling route linking the regional nature parks of Western Switzerland through preserved and authentic landscapes.
SPORTY: The Neuchâtel Region further strengthens its outdoor and cycling identity with the return of PEDALEO, the European bikepacking festival held in Neuchâtel. From 7 to 9 August, cycling travellers, adventurers and curious visitors gather by the lake to share the spirit of bikepacking in a friendly and international atmosphere. The programme includes bike rides, inspiring talks, workshops, concerts, open-air cinema and lakeside camping.
Move, breathe, explore! And make the most of spring and summer in the Neuchâtel Region.
