Our commitment

Located in the heart of exceptional natural surroundings and a culturally rich region, Tourism Biel Seeland is deeply committed to preserving its treasures and sharing them with the visitors of today and tomorrow.

That’s why the destination is committed to responsible tourism:
It implements numerous initiatives to improve the accessibility of its services, supports tourism providers in adopting sustainable practices, offers visitors nature-based experiences to deepen their understanding of biodiversity—and much more.

As part of the program “Biel Seeland: On the Path to a Sustainable Destination,” supported by the New Regional Policy of the Canton of Bern, Biel Seeland Tourism has initiated a multi-step process to connect and coordinate regional tourism stakeholders :

Sustainability Radar – a survey conducted among regional providers to assess their current sustainability efforts and their willingness to develop sustainable offers and pursue certifications.
Responsible Tourism Page – Collection and development of sustainability-related information within the destination, made available through this website.
Swisstainable Certification – Support for regional tourism providers through workshops and advice to help them get certified.
Development of Sustainable Offers – Upcoming project in collaboration with regional tourism providers to create collaborative and responsible offers, including an in-person workshop.
