From the mysterious, lush green Val-de-Travers with the majestic Creux du Van towering above it, you return to the gentle vine-clad terrain that sweeps down to the shores of Lake Neuchâtel. Then, cross the pass of La Vue des Alpes to reach the surprising watchmaking capital of La Chaux-de-Fonds, 1,000 m above sea level.
