In Le Locle, watchmaking is part of everyday life. But how much do we really know about the people and craftsmanship behind each watch?
For an hour and a half, take a seat at a watchmaker’s workbench and discover a craft that calls for patience, concentration and a steady hand. Guided by an experienced watchmaker, you will get to know the specialist tools of the trade and try your hand at a series of practical exercises using a training watch.
Positioning a tiny component, carrying out a delicate task, understanding how a mechanism works … Each exercise calls for focus and a light touch, giving you a real sense of just how much skill and precision watchmaking requires.
No previous experience is needed, and you certainly don't have to be a watch enthusiast. This workshop is for anyone curious to discover an unusual craft, put their dexterity to the test and perhaps even uncover a new passion.
An hour and a half that will change the way you look at watches!
