Protected natural area valued by migratory birds and composed of habitats favorable to amphibians, near the Solothurn border.
Stroll quietly among the ponds and wet meadows, hoping to catch a glimpse – and perhaps even hear – the protected inhabitants of this natural haven: frogs and small waders.
Located southwest of the Solothurn cantonal border, the Günsche-Witi Nature Reserve extends along the edge of the “Grenchner Witi” area, within the municipality of Lengnau. This protected site serves as a crucial stopover for migratory waders (small shorebirds), which also find a notable source of food here. The reserve also contains preserved and promoted habitats for amphibians.
