The Prés-d'Orvin/Chasseral ski region, complete with its Cross Country Ski Centre, is an extremely varied region for skiers of all levels. Depending on snow and weather conditions, up to 45 km of the slopes are groomed for classic and skate skiing, very often parallel to one another. Enjoy the typical landscapes and the magnificent panoramic views over Lake Neuchâtel, the Alps from Mont Blanc to Säntis, or look across to the Jura Mountains and the Black Forest. In this environment cross-country skiing or snow-shoeing are an ideal way to admire and wonder at the winter landscape. Five farm restaurants and a CAS (Club Alpin Suisse) cabin are waiting for you along the trails to satisfy your hunger or quench your thirst (check which days they are closed).
The skiing terrain is suitable for a wide range of abilities: easy, pleasant, varied for beginners or demanding for experienced cross-country skiers. Snow quality can vary from one location to another as the region is located at heights between 1028m and 1540m above sea level.
New: for the 2019/2020 season, the contours of trail number 2 behind the farm restaurant have been upgraded. Both the climb and the descent are now easier.
