This cross-country skiing loop covers 12 km in classic style or 10.5 km in skating style, offering a demanding route with approximately 240 metres of elevation gain. With challenging climbs, winter landscapes and a section near Bison Ranch, it is ideal for cross-country skiers looking for a sporting challenge.

Starting from the Les Prés-d’Orvin Nordic Centre, this cross-country skiing loop follows a challenging route through the winter landscapes of the Grand Chasseral. Covering 12 km in classic style or 10.5 km in skating style, with approximately 240 metres of elevation gain, the trail is mainly suited to experienced cross-country skiers, particularly at the beginning of the season when conditions can be more demanding.
After setting off, the route passes near the Métairie de Prêles, where the trails split approximately 200 metres further on. Skating enthusiasts take trail no. 4 to the right, while classic-style skiers continue straight ahead on trail no. 5.
The climb then becomes steeper towards Place Bison, following trail no. 6. From there, skiers can stop for a break at the Bison Ranch restaurant before continuing uphill towards Place Centrale along a more gradual slope.
For the return journey, trail no. 7 offers a pleasant alternative via the Les Cernils path. It leads back to Place Bison, from where skiers can return to the Nordic Centre and complete this rewarding cross-country skiing loop.
