This 12 km cross-country skiing loop, with 270 metres of elevation gain, is designed for experienced skiers. Featuring a sustained climb, a passage by the Métairie du Milieu de Bienne and the discovery of the La Neuve plateau, it offers a rewarding sporting challenge amid the winter landscapes of the Grand Chasseral.
Starting from Place Centrale, this 12 km cross-country skiing loop follows a challenging route towards the Chasseral. With approximately 270 metres of elevation gain, it is mainly suited to experienced cross-country skiers looking for a sporting challenge.
To reach La Neuve, follow trail no. 9 towards Pierrefeu. The route then continues with a steady, sustained climb that requires considerable effort, even from experienced athletes.
The Métairie du Milieu de Bienne is already a rewarding destination in itself and offers the possibility of turning back to shorten the route. Those wishing to extend their outing can continue climbing to the plateau below La Neuve, also known as West Point.
Once on the plateau, an almost flat loop allows skiers to extend their outing and enjoy the winter scenery before beginning the descent back to Place Centrale, completing this challenging cross-country skiing route.
