A forest trail starting from Neuchâtel takes you to one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the region: the summit of Chaumont.

From Les Roches de l'Ermitage, on the heights of the city of Neuchâtel, the Sentier des Poules winds its way through the majestic Chaumont forest. The route crosses the funicular railway line connecting La Coudre to Chaumont. The challenging but rewarding climb culminates in a spectacular view from the Chaumont observation tower. In 2025, this route will be part of the ‘26 summits’ initiative, which invites participants to climb one summit in each Swiss canton.
