The "Old Aare" with its characteristic river currents, pools, floodplain forests and wetland meadows is a floodplain area of national importance.
While the major part of the Aare is directed through a channel as a result of the correction of the waters in Jura, between Aarberg and Büren an der Aare, it flows on the original river bed. If you wish to find peace and quiet and regain your energy, you will find the perfect retreat in this local recreational area.
