Erlach
Situated on the western shore of Lake Biel, Erlach is one of the most beautiful places on Lake Biel with its picturesque lanes, squares and majestic castle.
The castle perched high above the town of Erlach is one of the oldest ones in the Canton of Bern and, together with the chruch and town hall, creates an other-worldly ambience in this quaint town. Erlach lies at the western end of Lake Biel and is an ideal starting point for visits to St. Peter's Island.

- The small museum inside the castle and the old prison tower can be visited upon request.
- In 2015, Erlach was named one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland in a national competition.
- Today, Erlach Castle is a school for boys and girls.
- Every year in September/October, the Läsetsunntige, a wine festival for young and old, takes place over two weekends.
