A fun, interactive treasure hunt to discover and experience Biel/Bienne’s bilingual identity in a whole new way, at your own pace, with family, friends or as part of a group.

In Biel/Bienne, French and German are part of everyday life, shaping the city's unique identity. With Mission Biel-Linguo, this special feature takes centre stage: bilingualism isn't just something you discover, it's something you experience!

The year is 2040. A proposed reform threatens to abolish Biel/Bienne's official bilingual status. It's up to you to investigate and save the city's identity! Your mission? Explore the city, solve puzzles and gather evidence to prove that bilingualism is much more than a local curiosity: it's at the very heart of Biel/Bienne's identity.

Equipped with an investigation kit and the “Les Frères Brigands” app, set off to explore Biel/Bienne, from the railway station to the Old Town. Take a closer look at the building façades, decipher inscriptions and discover how French and German coexist in everyday life.

  • Conditions / supplements
    • Suitable for ages 8 and up.
    • The route (approx. 2 km) takes you from Biel/Bienne railway station to the Old Town.
    • Make sure you bring a fully charged smartphone to use the “Les Frères Brigands” app, as well as comfortable shoes for exploring the city.
  • Meeting place
    • InfoCenter (Place de la Gare 12, 2502 Biel/Bienne). Present your booking confirmation at the counter to collect your game kit, which includes everything you need for the investigation, along with the access code for the “Les Frères Brigands” app.
  • Duration
    • 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes, depending on your pace. The game is self-guided, so you can explore at your own pace.
  • Time
    • Please check the InfoCenter's opening hours before collecting your game kit. Once you have your kit, you can start your adventure at any time, with no time restrictions.
  • Language
    • The game is only available in French or German.
