Looking for a lesser-known Swiss getaway? Head to Delémont, in the heart of the Jura.

Home to around 12,000 inhabitants, Switzerland’s youngest cantonal capital blends the charm of a village with the conveniences of a small town. Its old town, with cobbled streets and centuries-old façades, invites slow discovery on foot.

A stay in the Jura is the perfect opportunity to explore Delémont at yourwn pace and pair it with cycling tours through the surrounding countryside. Between heritage and wide-open landscapes, it’s an ideal escape to experience the capital of the Jura.

We suggest starting your stay with the Circuit Secret of Delémont. Afterwards, have lunch in a restaurant near the train station before hopping on a bike to explore the Delémont valley.

Set off to discover the cantonal capital by visiting, with a digital key, seven emblematic sites such as the Porte au Loup, the St-Marcel church tower, the Corps de Garde at the Château and the Villa Vermeille.

Here, every plate tells a story, crafted with passion using local products chosen for their freshness and authenticity. Enjoy inventive, characterful cuisine and let yourself be carried away by a unique culinary experience.

Head to the neighbouring village of Courtételle, located just 3 minutes by train from Delémont, to rent a bicycle, with or without electric assistance.

Set off on a ride through pastures and forests in the Delémont valley. This loop takes you through the charming villages of Courfaivre, Develier, Vicques and Courrendlin.

The Mercure Hotel in Delémont welcomes you with a warm, modern atmosphere, just steps from the old town. Perfect for unwinding after a day of walking or exploring, the hotel combines elegance, tranquillity and attentive service.

The next day, dive into regional history at the Jura Museum of Art and History, then enjoy some fresh air on a walk up to the Vorbourg, where a stunning panoramic view awaits. End the day with an apéritif in the lively streets of the old town.
