The old town of Biel is alive, innovative and diverse.

Most visitors come to Biel expecting a 19th century industrial city. However, many are surprised to find a medieval core that is still preserved.

The old town has remained authentic and full of charm. Galleries, antique shops and small stores alternate with restaurants, theatres and cafés.

The lively and colourful fruits and vegetables market takes place several times a week on the Place du Bourg and is an appointment for many people from Biel.

Every first Friday of the month, Biel's ol town comes alive for First Friday. A festive and cultural event not to be missed!
