Wooded pastures from Mont-Soleil to La Ferrière

Departing from the upper station of the Mont-Soleil funicular, this universally accessible route begins by descending gently in the shade of the forest for around 1.5 kilometers in a westerly direction. Along the way, you reach the Belvedere viewpoint, with its panoramic view of the Chasseral. Climb slightly to leave the forest at La Brigade, where a refreshing break at the Buvette des Sorbiers is most welcome. You then continue through the wooded pastures typical of the Grand Chasseral to the Auberge Chez L'Assesseur, where you can eat and even sleep. The trail continues downhill through fields to the historic Chaux-d'Abel hotel, past the railway station of the same name and on to the village of La Ferrière.
