A beautiful walk in the heights, accessible to everyone.
This pleasant circular walk on the Chasseral is one of the most impressive panoramic experiences in the Jura – and it requires very little effort. It is ideal for families with children as well as for people with limited mobility. The route starts at the Hotel Restaurant Chasseral, the highest inn in the Grand Chasseral. From here, the view is already spectacular: on clear days, it stretches from the Swiss Plateau across the Three Lakes region all the way to the Alps. From there, a well-maintained, wide path gently ascends towards the Chasseral transmission tower, the region’s distinctive landmark. The route is short, easy to follow, and without technical difficulty – perfect for a relaxed walk. Throughout the walk, you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama. To the south, Lakes Biel, Neuchâtel and Murten shimmer; beyond them, in clear conditions, the entire Alpine chain can be seen, from Säntis to Mont Blanc, with the majestic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in between. To the north, the view extends across the Jura hills to the Vosges in France and the Feldberg in Germany. The return follows the same path back to the starting point. Those who wish can round off the excursion at the Hotel Restaurant Chasseral, enjoying regional specialties in the panoramic restaurant or on its unique sun terrace.
