40th edition of the Sainte-Croix Carnival

From to

The town of Sainte-Croix, on the French-Swiss border, organises a famous carnival every February. Guggenmusik bands from all over Switzerland and humorous floats bring the streets, parades and festival square to life.

Thousands of carnival-goers, residents of Sainte-Croix and the entire Yverdon-les-Bains region, flock to Sainte-Croix to enjoy a weekend of festivities to the sound of Guggenmusik bands. A giant meal for 1,000 people is served on Friday evening in the marquee on the festival grounds. On Saturday afternoon, there is the traditional children's ball and, in the evening, the torchlight procession. On Sunday morning, there is an aperitif concert and, in the afternoon, the humorous floats and Guggenmusiks take over the streets of the town for the grand parade.
