This is certainly one of the most notable places of worship in Seeland.

The church at Ligerz is in a unique location in the vineyards above Lake Biel. A chapel in Ligerz, dedicated to St. Michael, was mentioned for the first time in the 13th century. The impressive size of the church today can be attributed to its popularity in the time of pilgrimages in the Middle Ages. This was the reason for the construction of the nave in late Gothic style, with its enclosed chancel, south of the tower. Nowadays, it is chosen as a wedding location by many couples. The incomparable panorama invites you to linger awhile and regain your energy.
