The Liebhaberbühne Biel presents: ‘Wir sind die Neuen’

Stage adaptation by Jürgen Popig based on the film of the same name by Ralf Westhoff
Swiss German translation: Hanna Scheuring

Directed by: Rebecca Jutzi

The three singles Anna, Eddi and Johannes, all now approaching retirement age, decide – partly for financial reasons – to revive their old student flat-share and move in together again. Just like in the old days, they sit around the kitchen table late into the night, drinking wine, philosophising and enjoying listening to loud music. However, this disturbs the students Katharina, Jean-Michel and Barbara on the floor above, who are about to graduate and cannot relate at all to their neighbours’ laid-back lifestyle. ‘We Are the Newcomers’ is a delightful comedy that shows, in a manner as turbulent as it is subtle, that the generations can benefit far more from one another than they realise.
