Visit of one of the world’s largest solar power plants integrated into a stadium.
In July 2015, at the time of its inauguration, the Tissot Arena was the largest solar power plant in the world integrated into a stadium. On its roof, more than 8,000 solar panels generate electricity from solar energy, supplying the grid in a sustainable way.
From the observation platform on the roof, visitors can view the 16,500 m² of solar panels as well as enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Biel and the surrounding hilly landscape.
A guided tour offers a concrete understanding of how solar energy is transformed into electricity. Upon request, access to the technical room can be included in the visit.
