Join a guided walk through the Grande Cariçaie nature reserve on Lake Neuchâtel – the perfect setting for observing autumn waterbirds.
Binoculars around your neck, walking shoes on – it’s time for some serious spotting! This easy 3 km walk leads through the heart of the Grande Cariçaie to the Bay of Yvonand, a prime location for waterbird gatherings.
Accompanied by a biologist, participants scan the shoreline in search of coots, red-crested pochards, herons and more. In autumn, many species prepare for their journey south, making the Grande Cariçaie nature reserve bordering Lake Neuchâtel an important stopover.
A telescope is provided, and the scenery stretches as far as the eye can see – a peaceful, enriching activity for all ages.
