The Swiss National Stud Farm is full of activities and know-how in many fields and professions.
Do you know the Franches-Montagnes horse breed? How do the horses feed? Have you ever heard of the profession of wheelwright?
Our guide will take you to the heart of the Swiss National Stud Farm's activities and introduce you to its various missions and its many boarders.
Established in Avenches in 1899, the Swiss National Stud Farm is a training centre for horse-related professions and a stallion depot for the Franches-Montagnes breed.
Its boarders are numerous and surprising! Amongst other stallions and mares, there is the donkey Balou as well as the largest colony of white storks in French-speaking Switzerland
