Winter in the Nord vaudois
Activity suggestions for a relaxing stay in the Nord vaudois.
In the Nord vaudois region there is something for everyone: downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing and ice skating. There are many different ways to enjoy the snow and the breathtaking scenery.
IMPORTANT
We cannot ensure that all our proposals are available, both in view of the current health situation and the weather.
Discover the region, enchanting in its winter coat. Tranquillity and wide open spaces await you.
Start your stay by donning a pair of snowshoes and setting off for a walk through the snowy pastures following the marked trail (pink markings).
At the end of the trail you will be welcomed by the team of the Hotel du Chasseron, which offers hot drinks and snacks at its Snow Bar.
After this winter walk unwind at your hotel. Guests at the Grand Hôtel des Rasses can take advantage of the swimming pool, spa and massages that the hotel offers. Classified as a historic hotel, it is designed to be a haven of utter relaxation and offers a magnificent view of the distant Alps.
After breakfast on the "Jura balcony" comes the Vallée de Joux.
The Lac de Joux is known to freeze for several days or even weeks each year if temperatures remain low for long enough, allowing visitors to take their own magnificent picture postcard photographs. Take the opportunity to walk along the edge of this winter wonderland and stop at Le Pont for lunch. The atmosphere of the place, which can only be described as cinematic, intrigues as much as it charms!
The aptly named Restaurant du Lac offers a menu based on fresh, seasonal products and has made a speciality of fish.
A very different setting can be found right at the east of the lake: the Audemars Piguet museum, named after the famous local brand of watches. Make sure you see and visit this museum, both for its resolutely contemporary architecture and for the richness of its collections. Inaugurated in June 2020, the space has been conceived to offer its visitors an immersive and innovative experience.
