A Swiss concept highlighting alternative forms of transport, the idea behind SlowUp is to close a road to traffic for a day so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery around you at your own pace.
Of the 19 participating regions, Lake Morat opens the SlowUp season in French-speaking Switzerland on the last Sunday of April.
Cyclists, walkers and rollerbladers can choose their own starting point on the 33 km circuit around Lake Morat and travel freely round the car-free route in a clockwise direction – with a small exception on selected sections. All along the route and in the SlowUp Villages of Avenches and Murten, there are musical, gastronomic and fun events throughout the day. A popular, enjoyable event whether you come with your family, on your own, as a couple or in a group.
