OpArt, short for optical art, uses optical illusions to explore the eye’s fallibility and to play tricks on the brain.
The POPA – Porrentruy Optical Art– museum is unique in Europe, presenting a permanent exhibition of an impressive optical art collection. Twice a year, in spring and in autumn, temporary exhibitions of great works of art complement the permanent show.
It also features a permanent collection dedicated to optical art and street art. As you wander through the streets, discover murals by numerous artists while exploring Porrentruy’s neighbourhoods and monuments. In May, new works are added to this open-air collection during the Porrentruy POPA Festival.
