With the help of guides from the Les Cerlatez Nature Centre, discover or rediscover the Etang de la Gruère.
As well as the beauty of the site, you'll learn more about the flora and fauna that live in this special ecosystem. You'll also be able to understand how this nature reserve of national importance was formed and how it has evolved over the centuries.
Before entering the nature reserve, you'll take the precious measurements of the giant wooded pasture, then discover the Etang de la Gruère. Following the pathway laid out with your guide, you will travel back 12,000 years to the time of the last ice age. In the unusual environment of the peat bog, the fauna and above all the flora will tell you all the secrets of their survival. And then there's man; man conditioned by the legends of the marshes, man who uses, modifies and man who studies, understands and protects...
- Duration: 1h30 to 6h (as chosen);
- The loop around the pond is approx. 2.6 km (flat);
- Access by public transport: bus (B32) between Saignelégier and Tramelan, stops ‘Saignelégier, La Theurre’ or ‘Saignelégier, Moulin de Gruère’;
- Access by car: 2 pay car parks: North car park (La Theurre sector) and South car park (Scierie sector);
- If you are meeting at the Nature Centre, you will need to allow for a short extra walk from the Nature Centre to La Theurre (around 15 minutes).
