Each winter, Murten's old town turns into a unique illuminated trail. Around twenty installations by Swiss and international artists bring life to alleyways, façades and the lakeside. All share the same element: light in all its forms.
Across twelve evenings, the Murten Light Festival invites visitors of all ages to enjoy an immersive experience. With 22 arteplages spread throughout the town, the programme blends poetry, technology and creativity. The winter atmosphere adds even more charm to the walk.
Organised by Murten Tourism and supported by more than 200 volunteers, the event has one clear aim: to create dreamlike moments and shape Murten into Switzerland’s capital of light.
Access is easy by train, by boat or via car parks connected by shuttle bus. Everything is in place for a carefree evening.
