When the Grand Tour of Switzerland is in a lakeside and winegrowing mood, it offers an alternative route when leaving Neuchâtel via Hauterive, la Thielle and Mont-Vully.

In Neuchâtel, two versions of the Grand Tour of Switzerland are available: exploring the Neuchâtel Mountains and the Jura valleys or continuing your road trip in the Three Lakes region. If you choose the latter, head for the villages of Hauterive and St-Blaise. Don't miss the vineyards, which turn orange in autumn, and discover the regional grape varieties. At the Thielle Canal, the road crosses into the Seeland area of the Canton of Bern. It continues to La Sauge before arriving in Vully, a wine-producing village on the shores of Lake Murten.
