Former priory and castle ruins

Löwenbourg is a former priory and historic farm that has been renovated by Merian foundation. Accessible via Pleigne, Movelier and Ederswiler, it features a prominent late Gothic style with a chapel, museum and 300-hectare farm. It was built between 1587 and 1597 under the abbot, Beatus Papa, and a little further to the south, it incorporated the ruins of a 10th century castle and a flint mine, evidence of human occupation for 50,000 years.
