"The Murten Museum has a very special location in the town’s mill, whose giant mill wheel still turns today. Inside, you will gain an insight into the turbulent history of the picturesque building. The permanent exhibition carries you off into the 6,000-year history of the town and its region. For example, you will learn exciting things about lakeshore settlements, life in the medieval town and the Battle of Murten while admiring impressive exhibits. My insider tip: the cannonball that floored an enraged elephant in the alleyways of the old town... the story behind that is also told in the museum, of course."
