The artist says: "For me, art is part of nature, it is a struggle for survival, it is to heal the body and mind, to gather strength and be free, to find inner and outer calm, to let go, to accept, to let images emerge, to give shape to the surrounding world, to be in nature, to be grateful, to know how to give when it comes. My imagination is all of this."
His paintings are sober, but anything but naïve; they go from figurative to expressive with, often, rich ornamental backgrounds. They proceed from a language of the depths emanating directly from the subterranean waters of the unconscious, which the artist transposes with arms and hands - direct extensions of the nervous system - into his own aesthetic. No other artistic genre has this intrinsic authenticity in accessing the preverbal elements of human cognition. In a playful condensation of styles and contents, the artist proposes, with a mastery that thwarts all obstacles, an image of life that, for once, is not limited to conveying knowledge in coded form, but that edifies and comforts. Great art.
