The Maison de la Tête de Moine is once again hosting giant hay sculptures on the theme of the 20 years of Tête de Moine PDO registration. They are made, under the aegis of Christian Burger, by 4 teams of 2 sculptors each and require 5 ½ to 6 days of work. These monumental sculptures, never before seen in Switzerland, measure up to 5 m in height and 6 m in length. Their construction requires mainly straw and hay, but also wood, iron bars, wire mesh, screws, nails... and a lot of elbow grease!
In addition to the exhibition of hay sculptures, a series of about 20 photographs by Pierre Montavon, taken from the book l'Univers de la Tête de Moine, can be seen at the Maison de la Tête de Moine.
