Is utopia a dream and dystopia, as a totalitarian society apparently built on a utopia, is it its opposite, a nightmare? Why are utopia and dystopia closely linked?
To deepen this reflection, the House of Elsewhere presents the works of François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters, exhibited for the first time in a Swiss museum.
The museum rooms have been dotted with utopian and dystopian “islands”, which establish a dialogue between the works of Schuiten and Peeters and those of Swiss artists Sébastien Mettraux, Louis Loup Collet and Thomas Crausaz, as well as the museum's heritage and multimedia devices prepared by HEIG-VD.
