The present building dates from 1785. It was restored and returned to service in 2014.

"I had the chance to visit the Sawmill of the Paroz Foundation, located in a beautiful natural environment near the bucolic village of Saicourt. It represents an important witness of the preindustrial era of the Bernese Jura. The lapping water, complex operations connected together by leather straps and waterfall that feeds the bucket of the Ferris wheel and helps, in regular and slow movements to saw the tree trunks of nearby forests. Discovering this magical place brings you back to the rural past of this region. Furthermore I learned that the sawmill had been restored in 2014 and had received the special prize of the historic buildings in the canton of Bern." Félicia
