Michelangelo's masterpiece inspired Friedrich Dürrenmatt's family to humorously designate the murals that he created in the most private place in their house... The toilet!
In this colourful and surprising work, we find characters from his plays as well as phantasmagorical creatures or the portrait of their dog Sheriff. The Sistine Chapel is unique in its kind, but it is also linked to motifs that cannot be ignored in Dürrenmatt's pictorial and literary work.
The Sistine Chapel was integrated into the architecture of the CDN by Mario Botta. With this exhibition, the museum is continuing to highlight the places where Friedrich Dürrenmatt lived, which provide a more intimate approach to his work. The writer and painter gave himself complete freedom to create these frescoes; these 14 m2 of paintings allow us to plunge into the heart of his creative process.
With some fifty works by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, the exhibition also includes informative and entertaining virtual reality stations to offer the public a totally immersive experience.
