Discovery day in Val-de-Travers

Departing from Neuchâtel, aboard the Nostalgie train, enjoy a coffee and a croissant while admiring the wild landscape along the "Franco-Swiss" line that crosses the Gorges de l'Areuse and the Creux du Van area. Once in La Presta-Travers, you will have the opportunity to visit the Asphalt Mines and taste the famous ham cooked in asphalt. In the afternoon, the Val-de-Travers steam train will take you to its depot in St-Sulpice. The Nostalgie train will then take you to Môtiers, to visit the Maison de l'Absinthe. Return to Neuchâtel by the regular SBB train.

11.00 guided tour of the asphalt mines
12.30 p.m. lunch in the mines' restaurant
13:55 departure of the VVT steam train to Travers then Fleurier - St-Sulpice
3.20 pm arrival in St-Sulpice; free visit of the steam train depot-museum
3.40 pm departure from St-Sulpice on the RVT-Historique Nostalgie train
3.55 pm arrival in Môtiers
4 pm free visit and tasting at the absinthe house in Môtiers. Also possible to get a glass of Mauler champagne instead of absinthe
5.35 pm departure of the regular SBB train
6.18 pm arrival in Neuchâtel
