Highlights

Chaumont – the Neuchâtel Summit of the 2025 “26 Summits” challenge

This year, Chaumont proudly represents the canton of Neuchâtel in the nationwide 26 Summits challenge organized by Blick. This adventure invites you to climb one summit per Swiss canton, and Chaumont offers a memorable and accessible experience for all. Rising to 1,180 meters above sea level, Chaumont is easily reachable from the city of Neuchâtel. The round-trip hike covers about 5 kilometers with a moderate elevation gain, making it ideal for a family outing or a relaxed walk with friends. Along the way, you’ll pass through peaceful forests and enjoy open views of the Neuchâtel Lake.

At the top, the Chaumont Panoramic Tower offers spectacular views of the Alps, the Jura Mountains, and the Three Lakes Region. Don’t forget your binoculars – the 360-degree panorama is breathtaking. For the best experience, we recommend comfortable hiking shoes and a light backpack. And if you’d rather save your energy, you can choose to ride the funicular either up or down.

So get your gear ready, pick a sunny day, and set out to explore Chaumont – the Neuchâtel summit is waiting for you!
